Pampered Pussycat!
August 28, 2008 at 6:05 pm | In General | 3 CommentsArchie looks so scary! lol Infact he’s the softest sweetest little cat anyone could wish for!
He’s having a lot of fun around the flat…whilst I was trying to pack for the BritBallRun weekend he was jumping into my clothes bag as often as he could! He also liked the packaging from a parcel I received before we left…
I wasn’t too impressed when I found him drinking my water…
But it’s difficult to stay mad with the little fella when he’s at his cutest…
This seems to be his new favourite spot so his blanket now stays on the pillow ready for him to have a snooze…
More news from the new flat, I have a new kitchen floor! Below is a shot of the old (brown/creamy thing) and new flooring side by side…
And then the almost finished new flooring…
I really like it and it makes the kitchen feel modern and complete now. Next job on the list is the fence for my garden which I am hoping I will be able to get done in September.
MBF and I had a great weekend on the BritBallRun and we even managed to come home with a very nice trophy…
This week is time for me to rest and get some energy back before my operation. Just a week and a couple of days to go…fingers crossed they don’t cancel on me!
Time for me to get back to writing up our BritBallRun diaries, I’ll let you know when I’ve posted them on our website!
BritBallRun 2008
August 22, 2008 at 10:35 am | In General | 1 CommentI can’t believe how quickly this has come around! I am currently sitting on a train on my way to meet MBF then we’ll be heading to our B&B near the start so we dont have to get up too early tomorrow!
For those of you that don’t know what I am talking about check out OUR WEBSITE for more information on the BritBallRun, why we take part and to follow our progress over the next 3 day!
Below is some details on how much we have raised so far and a button for you to click if you’d like to sponsor us! Thanks to everyone that has shown there support for us since this all began in December 2006, we wouldn’t have made it this far without you!
I’ll write more next week after some much needed rest!!
Photos of Rodney
August 19, 2008 at 5:29 am | In General | Leave a CommentI found a few photos of Rodney last night, I’m sure there are lots more somewhere! The one above is Rodney and Del. They are brothers that Mum got when they were kittens (I think) from a rescue centre. I wonder how much other cats know, will Del be missing Roddy?
Below is Roddy on the left and Alfie on the right. Alfie is about 4 years old and he and Roddy didn’t get much closer than this…
The only time they really tolerated eachother was feeding time when Alfie would let Roddy lick his face!
Roddy about to yawn…
And finally one of my favourite shots of him…
It wasn’t a good few weeks for Roddy, we still don’t know what was wrong with him and when the vet saw him on Saturday he thought he was a bit better and didnt need to see him for a couple of weeks. Then yesterday morning he took a turn for the worst.
I have often thought that getting upset over the death of a pet seems silly when put along side the loss of a ‘human’ loved one but, like you would a friend, you get to know the animals personality and learn to understand their little quirks. Roddy was my favourite, I couldn’t help it, he was the most cuddly!
D loved cats, I have decided that maybe he needed Roddy, he’ll look after him now x

Rodney was just 8 and a half years old, he passed away this morning shortly before 8.30am

Airbourne 2008, Eastbourne
August 15, 2008 at 5:39 pm | In General | 1 CommentYesterday my friend K came over and we went down to Eastbourne to watch the first day of Airbourne 2008. When we left it was looking very much like rain and I was ready with my waterproofs but how wrong we were! It was a really lovely day (so nice I had to go and buy a hat!) and I enjoyed watching all of the planes on display. My longest lens is only 200mm so I was a little restricted on what I could take and how close I could get to things but I had fun and thats what counts! Here are a few photos from the day…
Thanks to K for another lovely day, we’ll have to do it again sometime! Oh yes, and, what colour did they tint those eyelashes?!
Other news…
Rodney will be going to see the vet again tonight to get an up date on how he is doing. He is eating more but is still very thin and has now developed a problem with his eyes which Mum is worried about
I will let you know what the vet says when I know.
Congratulations to my brother for great AS level results yesterday!
Archie is doing well
Making me smile frequently throughout the day (wish he would sleep through the night though!). Here are a few more pictures of him taken on my camera phone…
Quiet weekend for me as I need to try and save my energy. Next Friday morning MBF and I set off to take part in the BritBallRun for the second year running. At least this year I won’t be wearing a dress!!! Our fundraising total is creeping nearer the £10,000 target and we currently have various items up for auction in our eBay store. You can find a link to the auctions and keep up to date with everything thats happening with us over the 3 day event by visiting our website www.rosmcgill.co.uk
Oh some very, very good news!!!!!! I will be going into hospital on 8th September for surgery on my foot/leg. I FINALLY got a date 3 years, 1 month and 3 days after I broke it! I should be in hospital for about a week and then back on my crutches and in a boot again non weight bearing for 6 weeks then I get to find out if it’s worked! I am sure I will post here before then though so I’ll save the prayer requests for a couple of weeks!
Hope you all have a good weekend
Rodney
August 10, 2008 at 4:44 pm | In General | 3 CommentsRodney is a very poorly boy
The vet has never seen anything like this and is unsure what is wrong with him. He is on tablets to try and drain the fluid from around his body and was given a steroid injection on Friday. If that doesn’t work the vet doesnt think there is anything else he can do.
Rodney is my Mum’s cat, he is 8 years old. Whilst I was living their Rodney became my favourite (Mum has 3 cats) and the reason I picked a ’strawberry blonde’ pussycat myself was because he reminded me of Rodney!
I know, ‘it’s only a cat’, but if anyone could spare a minute for a thought or a prayer for him I would be very grateful.
