Them horrible things are back…

I can’t see the outside of the house, just the door. When I knock your Aunty P answers and invites me in. Looks like there is a family gathering and there you are, smiling and chirpy as always. It’s nice to get one of your hugs and to hold your hand again. You tell me how silly I have been the last few days and how the thoughts of ‘what could of been’ won’t do me any good…you are always right! After chatting to everyone we head back to the flat…

This is where I am interrupted by some eejit delivering the local paper, but, it’s ok, after a few minutes I am soon back…

You aren’t in the flat but for some reason I know to go just a few doors down and knock on the door…you’re here…and you’re married! It looks like the earlier situation isn’t linked to this one. You got married after getting better…and you think I left you in ICU and just gave up on you :o ( We do a lot of talking and I explain the phonecall I got to say you were no longer with us. There are lots of tears and when your wife…who I never see…leaves, we realise that something terrible has happened. We are supposed to be married and living this life. I ask you to come home and you are smiling that lovely smile…

All the time I am wondering why you haven’t had a heart transplant. They said if you survived ICU you’d need a new heart…

And that was the end of my afternoon snooze :o (

When I was younger my Mum and Dad used to have a tape of Stevie Wonder songs and it would make an appearance just for this song on our birthdays. So, as it’s a special family birthday in our ‘house’ this weekend I thought it was only right I found it for you all to listen to :o )

Sunday will be my ‘little’ brothers 18th Birthday…

Hope you have a lovely day XxX

On Thursday Will also found out he had passed his SAT(s?) which means it looks like he’ll be going to University in the USA next year on a soccer scholarship :o ) Congratulations little bro ;o)

Fingers crossed I’ll have some birthday shots to share with you all early next week :o )

PAD 2009 – Subject ideas needed

November 19, 2008 at 2:57 am | In General | 2 Comments

Helloooo all :o )

It’s getting to that time of year again where I am thinking about doing a photo a day in the new year! This time I have decided to have 12 subjects (1 for each month) and I am hoping I can manage a photo everyday for all the subjects!

So far suggestions for subjects are:

~ Laundry (linen and clothes)

~ Furniture and fittings

~ The Creative Cat

~ Daily routines

~ Windows. Different things on the window sills, different way the light enters (or doesn’t), drapes, panes… Add doors if needed.

- Glasses and jars. Maybe add cans, too?

So, I need another 6 (and maybe a couple more as backups incase I run out of ideas sometimes!).

Any suggestions??

Yesterday evening, thanks to a very kind donation from our friend Sarah, we, RoseBuddies, hit our £10,000 target!

Both MBF and I are thrilled and we’d like to take this opportunity to thank all those who have supported us the past 2 years, it really does mean a lot to us!A fitting end to a special week.

Something BIG is happening…

It’s nearly 3am here in the UK and the BBC is 3 and a half hours into it’s US Election night coverage. I’m not a fan of politics and have never voted in an election here, however, tonight feels like an important world event, not just an American one.

As things stand right now McCain is at 135 and Obama is at 207…things are looking good for Barack Obama to become the first African American President of the USA.

Why am I writing about this? In recent weeks I have been increasingly interested in the campaigning and the overwhelming support there seems to have been for Obama. No matter where you are, what happens tonight will play a part in the future of the world.

I think it’s a wonderful thing to see equality has finally reached a country that should have embraced it many years ago. I have a stack of newspapers in my ‘memory box’ of important world events that have occured so far in my life time, I think I’ll need to get a paper tomorrow to add to the box!

Incidently the reason I am still up at 3am is because I am feeling absolutely terrible :o ( I have been having a tough time the past week or so healthwise and tonight has been particularly horrible (I will spare you all the details!). Once Obama hits 270 I am going to try for some sleep…though part of me really wants to wait up to watch him address the crowds in Chicago!

Guess who?

I am not a fan of images of myself, who is? But, this one was taken by M at DPC and is one of only 2 photos of me in recent years that I actually really like. Hellooo to anyone that didn’t know what I looked like before seeing this post ;o)
